Mrs. Nordette Givans

First and Second Grade Reading Coach

I have over a decade of teaching experience, beginning in Jamaica, where I taught students from Kindergarten to Second Grade and served as Senior Teacher, supervising Lower School and the Infant Department. Since joining Clarke Elementary, I have taught both First and Second Grade and worked as a Master Teacher.

I am currently serving as the ELA Coach for First and Second Grade which involves providing direct support to teachers and students. Teaching is my passion, and I am driven by the joy and trust my students show each day. As a lifelong learner and leader, I strive to model excellence, build strong relationships, and guide my team to achieve shared goals.

Mrs. Venessa Lofters

Third, fourth, and Fifth Grade Reading Coach 

I serve as the 3-5 Reading Coach at Clarke Elementary, where I support teachers and students in fostering a love for reading and literacy. Before joining Clarke, I spent six years at Zeb Vance Elementary, where I  worked as a 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher. During that time, I also took on leadership roles as a mentor to new teachers and a team lead. My passion for education stems from the belief that education is what survives when what is learned has been forgotten, I am committed to helping students develop lifelong skills that extend beyond the classroom.
